Home remedies for dry skin. In the months of winter season, skin is predominantly dry. It can get so dry that it starts to look broken. Lips may become chapped. Skin of the entire body That is because winter climate has a drying effect on the body. It has little moisture in it. Some people have chronically dry skin, which can have an impact on their lives. Simple remedies can help one get over this problem and achieve healthy, glowing skin.

Home remedies for dry skin on face, feet, body and lips :
- Olive oil : It is one of the best remedies for dry skin. Olive oil is a great nourishing agent for the skin. Apply it in ample amount and massage the skin. Keep it for some hours and then wash it off. If you do not intend to wash it off, then apply a thin coat of olive oil and let the skin soak it.
- Other oils, like coconut oil, avocado oil, baby oil are also good for the skin. They provide the benefits in their own way. So, make a skin care plan which involves the application of olive oil with application of any of these oils in between. Make a weekly or a monthly plan.
- Bathe in milk : Get full fat cow milk and let it flow on the skin nicely. Make sure it is slightly warm. Let the milk stay that way for some time ( like 20 minutes ), then wash it off with warm water. This skin care treatment is wonderful in providing nutrition to the skin, thus preventing dull skin.
- Petroleum jelly : After taking a bath, do not dry the water aggressively. Let the skin soak in the water. After the skin has become slightly dry, apply petroleum jelly as a thin layer on the whole body. This locks in the moisture and keeps the skin well hydrated underneath. Otherwise if we pat dry the skin, much of the moisture that would have seeped in through the skin pores is caught. Water helps the skin to be moist and healthy, instead of dry and cracking.
- Apply almond paste : Crush many almonds along with their peel. Mix some flour and mix in water. Apply it on the skin. The wet flour helps it stick to the skin well. Remove with warm water, carefully preventing an body hair from being pulled away. This treatment will make the skin more elastic and it would crack less.
- Banana peel for cracks : If the skin had been dry for many days, cracks may have formed, particularly on the heel of feet. Apply a banana peel ( the inside of it ) on the cracked skin.
Diet for relieving dry skin all over the body : Drink the juice of Indian gooseberry, beetroot, red turnips and especially carrots. Do not drink too much carrot juice or the skin would look orange.
