Home remedies for carpal tunnel syndrome pain. Carpal tunnel syndrome affects the forearm, wrist and fingers leading to pain and decreased control over movement. It is mostly caused by repetitive work done by the hands, generally the fingers like typing, wall climbing, writing, painting etc. The condition worsens if the person does not take rest. The pain due to this condition can be reduced to some extent.

Home remedies for carpal tunnel syndrome pain :
- Exercise of the hands : Do some simple stretching exercises of the fingers, wrist and forearm. Rotate the entire hand in clockwise and then anticlockwise direction. Stretch the hand forward and backward. Rotate the wrist gently in both direction. Grip and loosen the palm to form fist. See the effect on grip strength. In carpal tunnel syndrome, the grip of the hand is reduced.
- B Vitamins : Eat foods rich in all the different types of B vitamins. Especially focus on eating foods rich in Vitamin B 6 because it is known to help tremendously in case of carpal tunnel syndrome pain. Vitamin B 6 also promotes faster healing in case of carpal tunnel surgery. Also focus on Vitamin B 12 and eat foods that are rich in this vitamin. That is because it prevents deterioration of nervous coordination which can aggravate this syndrome and lad to lack of control on fingers.
- Reduce intake of sodium in diet : This effectively points at reducing salt intake in diet. Avoid eating frozen packed foods which have a lot of salt on them. Check food labels to find out the amount of added salt in a packaged food item. Excess sodium in body leads to fluid retention which increases the pain of carpal tunnel syndrome.
- Arnica oil : This is the oil taken from a flowering herb which is found in many parts of Europe. Arnica Montana oil speeds up healing in the body and thus makes the body heal the carpal tunnel syndrome quickly.
- Turmeric : Make a paste of turmeric in lime juice. Apply this dense paste on the wrist and extend it to the palm and forearm. Do not move the arm much. Keep this paste on for a few hours then wash it off. Also apply it at night and wash off in the morning only.
- Pineapple : Eat lots of raw and ripe pineapple. It contains good amount of an enzyme called bromelain which can help in this condition.
- Red meat : Get some red meat and tie it on the hand with a gauze of tight bandage. Making it tight compresses the red meat which causes the liquid to drip out of the meat. These juices from the meat and absorbed by the skin and enter the structures in the hand - that is tendons and nerves.
- Acupuncture : This ancient Chinese system of healing is also a feasible remedy for carpal tunnel syndrome. However, it is not a home remedy because acupuncture is performed by a trained person. One can however do acupressure at home which too can help in carpal tunnel syndrome pain in hand.
Finally, take some break from repetitive work. As the body gets rest, the condition can improve.
