- Remove the sting : Carefully search for the sting and try to pull it out with tweezers, butter knife, needle or something like that. This is the most important step. If the sting stays in there for a long time, it is going to give pain for a long time. On the other hand, if it is removed, there is good chance that the pain will be relieved quickly.
After the sting is removed, use any of these home remedies to reduce the pain of bee sting.
- Copper coin : Get a clean copper coin and place it over the bee sting. This is one of the best remedies for any kind of bee sting. One can also use any other product made from copper, like utensil, artifact, statue etc.
- Papaya : Slice a cool papaya ad place it on the bee sting area. The swelling can reduce quickly and pain too can subside much faster that it would normally.
- Toothpaste : Dab some toothpaste on the bee sting area. Do not use tooth paste which comes as a gel.
- Mustard seeds : Placing mustard seeds on the bee sting also alleviates the pain.
- Apply ice : This is a fool proof method to reduce pain and swelling in almost any case. Apply ice directly to the skin. It lowers the swelling and numbs the skin, so that the pain sensation is dulled.
- Rub a lemon on the bee sting : Lemon would definitely cause more pain, but it helps in minimizing the pain later on.
- Mud : Get good quality soil and mix it up with water. Make sure it is cool water. Then, apply it on the bee sting. It works very good to reduce the swelling and cooling the skin.
