Home remedies for diarrhea. It is a condition that can sap the energy from you. Diarrhea makes a person weak and muscle cramps usually appear as soon as diarrhea subsides. Diarrhea is really dangerous for babies. There are however some remedies which can relieve diarrhea quickly, prevent weakness and muscle cramps.

Most people do not take diarrhea seriously. However, the loss of body fluids due to diarrhea can be substantial if diarrhea lasts more than a day. This creates a lack of potassium in body, which impairs nervous transmission. That is why oral re hydration solution ( ORS ) is given to patients of diarrhea. It contains essential electrolytes for our body.

The symptoms of diarrhea are frequent loose stools, weakness, extreme fatigue, muscle cramps, abdominal pain ( in some cases ) , mental fogginess. There can be chills or fever due to diarrhea. It is very important to understand the symptoms of diarrhea in babies, because they are unable to convey their feeling. Diarrhea is quite a problematic condition in babies.

In most cases, the cause of an acute diarrhea is gastroenteritis or food poisoning. A particular pathogen enters the body and our body quickly eliminates it out of the system.

Home remedies are mainly aimed at reducing the severity of symptoms, letting the diarrhea recover much faster and obviously with lesser discomfort.

Home remedies for acute diarrhea.

1. Eat banana ( excellent for diarrhea )
Taking a banana every few hours helps to get some solid food into the intestine. It gets the digestive mechanism into working mode while diarrhea can be relieved. Bananas can also be given to kids and babies. They are rich in carbohydrates and electrolytes, specially potassium. Bananas fill you up and there is a lesser feeling of " I need to go to the toilet ".

So, keep eating a banana every few hours. Do not worry about weight gain because your body is actually losing weight during diarrhea.
Banana provides bulk to stool making them weighted and less watery. In some hours, they become less frequent and more normal.
Bananas help to combat every symptom of diarrhea - the weakness ( through simple carbs ), muscle cramps ( through potassium and other minerals ) and loose stools.
